How ThingsLinker works
This page explains the platform in pictures. You do not need it to use ThingsLinker, but it helps to know where things happen.
Who does what
The parts of the platform
- Live traffic (readings and commands) goes through the MQTT broker. That is why dashboards update within a second.
- The ThingsLinker server listens to the broker too. It stores every reading for charts and history, keeps each device's online status, and checks alert rules.
- Everything else (accounts, devices, widgets, plans, tickets) goes to the server over HTTPS.
